SPOT 01 Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage 81st Sacred Spot, Shiromineji Temple
It is the family temple of Emperor Sutoku, who was exiled to Sanuki after the Hogen Rebellion (1156).
Sagamibo, one of the Eight Great Tengu, is enshrined here.

SPOT 02 Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage 82nd Sacred Spot, Negoroji Temple
Negoroji Temple was named after the stump of a sacred tree cut to make a Senju Kannon statue which continued to emit a fragrant scent.
The statue of Ushioni, a legendary cow demon killed in this area, is now revered as a guardian.

Shikoku's 88 sacred places are the temples where Kukai, the founder of the Shingon School of Buddhism, is believed to have trained. The journey to visit all of these temples is called the Shikoku Pilgrimage.

SPOT 03 Masayuki Nagare, Matakimai
Matakimai means "please come back" in the local dialect of Kagawa. The work expresses how people walk when stepping over the islands of Setouchi.

SPOT 04 Seto Inland Sea Folk History Museum
The building, which was designed by architect Tadashi Yamamoto from Kagawa Prefecture, is a nationally designated cultural property. It consists of multiple square exhibition rooms stacked on top of each other or arranged side by side to complement the natural landscape.
The museum exhibits tools and articles related to fisheries, agriculture, and life in the Setouchi Region.
Use the staircase that looks as if it rises to the sky to get to the rooftop balcony.

Mild curry prepared with amazake
Lunch served in this old private house features fermented foods. Hishio (a fermented barley and soybean paste), amazake (a fermented rice drink) and shio koji (a salty fermented seasoning) are all prepared by hand.

Takeshi Kawashima Art Factory Museum
The museum exhibits the art of Takeshi Kawashima. In 2016, Kawashima returned from New York, which had been the hub of his activities for 53 years. The museum is also his studio.
Entering the museum, visitors are greeted with the serene Seto Inland Sea and its islands, where the calm scenery blends into the exciting works of Takeshi Kawashima.

The reflection pool reflects the sky, creating a mirrored effect, while the terrace offers a majestic uninterrupted view across the Seto Inland Sea.
