Konan area

The downtown area of Takamatsu is close to the Takamatsu Central Wholesale Market, which handles seafood, produce, and other foods, and the city is characterized by its close connection between production and consumption. The Takamatsu Sea & Sun Market district located downtown is a popular spot to enjoy food and shopping for locals and tourists alike. Located directly in front of Takamatsu's fishing port, you can get a sense of what a fishing port is from the various fishing boats lined up.

Yashima area

Yashima was an important point on maritime routes with a mountain castle built in ancient times due to its location overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. It was the stage of the Genpei Battle and is an area to experience historical romanticism.
Nowadays, tourists come to visit the Yashima Mountaintop Facility (a.k.a. Yashimaru), the New Yashima Aquarium, Yashimaji Temple on the Shikoku pilgrimage, and the views. In particular, during the golden hour for several minutes after sunset, the color of the sky fantastically changes from red to a deep blue. SHIKOKUMURA MUSEUM, where old houses from across Shikoku were moved and reconstructed, is recommended for building lovers and as a photo spot.
